Today is Un-carrier Next day for T-Mobile, and the company made a few big announcements.
First up is Team of Experts. With this Un-carrier move, T-Mobile hopes to improve customer service for its subscribers. A Team of Experts consists of 30 to 40 customer care reps that are assigned to a city. These reps all sit next to each other and are trained in a wide variety of topics so that you don't have to be bounced around, though they are connected to retail stores and engineers should you need help from them.
When you need to contact your Team of Experts for help, you'll have a few methods of doing so. You can call 611, chat using iMessage with Apple Business Chat, or message through the T-Mobile app. You can also schedule a call to have T-Mo reach out to you, and soon you'll be able to have Amazon Alexa or Google Assistant have T-Mobile's Team of Experts call you.
You can contact Team of Experts 24/7, but the U.S.-based customer support will only be available from 7:00 am to 9:00 pm local time. Outside of those hours, you'll reach T-Mobile's global customer support. T-Mo does say that it's working to bring its Team of Experts model to its overseas support, though, and that it hopes to have Team of Experts available 24/7 everywhere by early 2019.
T-Mobile Team of Experts is launching for postpaid customers today and will be rolled out to business and public sector customers as well.
Also announced today are some music perks for T-Mobile customers. First up, T-Mobile customers can get access to last-minute tickets to shows, and soon T-Mo subscribers will also have the chance to buy reserved seats in sold out sections of shows. Additionally, T-Mobile will offer two $25 tickets to select Live Nation amphitheater shows starting August 21st. These discounted concerts will include Charlie Puth, Counting Crows, Dierks Bentley, Wiz Khalifa and Rae Sremmurd, Lady Antebellum and Darius Rucker, and Niall Horan.
Rounding out the Live Nation concert benefits include a few perks that are coming in 2019. These include fast lane entry to select Live Nation amphitheater concerts for T-Mobile customers, an exclusive concession line including a Signature Magenta Cocktail, and magenta lawn chairs.
T-Mobile today said that it's giving customers a free year of Pandora Plus, too. On August 28th, T-Mobile customers can get a free one-year subscription to Pandora Plus in the T-Mobile Tuesdays app. Pandora Plus typically costs $4.99 per month and includes ad-free music streaming, unlimited replays and skips, and offline listening.
