It's expected that Google will introduce new Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL models later this year, but it turns out that those may not be the only new pieces of hardware that Google has up its sleeve.
Google is planning to announce a Pixel smartwatch at an event this fall. That's according to a source who prominent leaker Evan Blass describes as "reliable". It's also said that Google will introduce a second generation model of its Pixel Buds wireless earbuds at this fall event.
No details on either device were given, so it's unclear what features either might offer.
A Pixel-branded smartwatch would be a big deal for Wear OS and could help to boost interest in Google's wearables platform. While Google did partner with LG to make the Watch Sport and Watch Style smartwatches last year, this Pixel smartwatch would presumably be Google branded and get a big marketing push like Google's Pixel phones have. It'll be interesting to see what Google thinks is the ideal smartwatch design and what features it crams into its wearable.
