Remember when Amazon announced that it had agreed to acquire smart doorbell maker Ring? Well now that deal is officially complete.
Amazon says that it has closed its acquisition of Ring. Now that the two companies are one, they'll work to reduce crime in neighborhoods using "affordable, effective home security products and services."
To that end, Amazon has officially cut the price of the Ring video doorbell.
The Ring video doorbell is a smart home security device that has an HD video camera built-in. You can use it to monitor areas in front of your home, customize the sensitivity, and get alerts on your smartphone, tablet, or desktop when motion is detected. You can also get live video from your doorbell and interact with visitors.
In addition to all those features, the Ring video doorbell also offers integration with Amazon's Alexa assistant. Owners of the Echo Show and Fire TV devices can get live video from their Ring video doorbell on their Echo Show or Fire TV device.
