After spending some time as the slightly cheaper alternatives to Google's Pixel 2 and Pixel 2 XL, the original Pixel phones have now been officially removed from the Google Store.
Both the Google Pixel and Google Pixel XL have quietly disappeared from the Google Store. They were available for around $100 less than their Pixel 2 counterparts following the launch of those new models last year, but now they're no longer being sold by Google.
Both original Pixel models have been removed from the Project Fi store, too.
It is kind of a bummer to see the Pixel and Pixel XL disappear because they were such a big deal for Google, being the company's first flagship Pixel smartphones. It makes sense that Google would stop selling them, though, since their discounted prices weren't all that much cheaper than the newer Pixel 2 and Pixel 2 XL and so they probably weren't selling many units. The good news is that if you do really want an original Pixel, you do have options like eBay or Swappa.
Did you ever use a Google Pixel or Google Pixel XL?
