AR Emoji is one of the top new features of the Galaxy S9 and S9+, and today Samsung announced a new promotion to help it get peoples' attention.
Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9+ owners can use Mickey Mouse and Minnie Mouse to create personalized messages using the AR Emoji feature. These characters are available in the AR Emoji mode on their device's camera.
Samsung plans to add characters from The Incredibles, Zootopia, and Frozen to its AR Emoji feature later in 2018.
AR Emoji's big feature is that it can create a 3D replica of your face by mapping more than 100 facial features, but the Apple's Animoji show that people are also interested in using fun animated characters to send messages to others. Mickey and Minnie Mouse are two of the biggest animated characters ever, so this is a big addition for AR Emoji. While this feature alone isn't likely to sell many GS9 and GS9+ phones, the addition of beloved animated characters could get people to check our AR Emoji when they otherwise might have ignored it.
