Huawei has been big on dual rear camera setups lately, using them on multiple flagships as well as devices in the Honor line of smartphones. Now it looks like Huawei may be planning to take things a step further with its next big release.
Huawei may be planning to launch a smartphone with a triple rear camera setup. The company recently sent out invitations to an event on March 23 that faintly shows three circles. Additionally, the tagline for the event is "See Mooore with AI".
Dual rear camera setups have become a popular way to add a portrait mode to a smartphone, giving consumers an easy way to add a blurry background to their photos. Some OEMs also offer one RGB sensor and one monochrome sensor, or one standard camera and one wide angle camera. If Huawei is indeed planning to launch a phone with three rear cameras, it'll be interesting to see what features that'll offer.
In other Huawei news, alleged renders of the upcoming Huawei P20 Lite have leaked out. Based on leaked schematics, this P20 Lite is a bit reminiscent of the iPhone X, featuring a notch near the top of its display and a vertically-stacked dual rear camera setup. Two things that this P20 Lite has that the iPhone X doesn't are a rear fingerprint reader and a 3.5mm headphone jack.
