This is a big week for Cricket Wireless, with the prepaid carrier not only launching a new Android smartphone but also kicking off a new deal.
First up, the Alcatel Verso is now available from Cricket. Priced at $29.99, this Android 7.0 smartphone packing a 5-inch 854x480 display, 5-megapixel rear and 2-megapixel front cameras, a quad-core Snapdragon 210 processor, and 2GB of RAM.
There's 16GB of built-in storage with the Verso and a microSD card slot if you need more storage, and the whole package is powered by a 2,050mAh battery.
Now for the special offer. When you switch to Cricket Wireless, you can get two lines of unlimited data for $80 per month and two free smartphones. The phones that qualify for this offer include the Alcatel Verso and LG Fortune.
The unlimited plan included with this deal is the Unlimited 2 plan. It includes unlimited talk, text, and data, but the data speeds are capped at 3Mbps and video streams at 480p quality.
Cricket's switcher offer will be available through April 12.
