CES 2018 may not officially start for another couple of days, but that hasn't stopped one company from announcing its CES news today.
Honor today confirmed that the Honor View 10 is coming to the U.S. No specific launch info or pricing info has been confirmed quite yet, but when the View 10 launched in China at the end of 2017, it started at CNY2699 ($409 USD) for a model with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of storage.
The Honor View 10 is the latest smartphone from Huawei sub-brand Honor with slim bezels and a dual rear camera setup. It's packing a 5.99-inch 2160x1080 screen with an 18:9 aspect ratio, and around back there's a 20-megapixel monochrome camera as well as a 16-megapixel RGB camera. Honor also touts that its photography algorithms can identify 13 types of scenes and objects and adjust your camera settings accordingly.
Powering the Honor View 10 is an octa-core Kirin 970 processor that's paired with up to 6GB of RAM and up to 128GB of storage. There's also a microSD card slot if the built-in storage isn't enough for you. Rounding out the View 10's spec list is a 13-megapixel front camera, front fingerprint reader, USB-C port, 3,750mAh battery, and 3.5mm headphone jack.
The Honor View 10 comes preloaded with Android 8.0 Oreo running below a custom EMUI 8.0 user interface. Honor is touting special EMUI features like face unlock and Uninterrupted Gaming, the latter of which will filter "unnecessary calls or messages" to keep you in gaming.
Also announced today at CES is a special red version of the Honor 7X. This device will be limited to 20,000 units and will be available for Valentine's Day in the U.S., Russia, India, and Western Europe (United Kingdom, France, Germany, Italy, and Spain).
The first 100 people that buy the limited edition red Honor 7X in each country/region will get a red pair of Honor-Monster AM15 headphones.
