Details on a new Nokia flagship have leaked out, and the source isn't one that you'd expect.
The FCC appears to have revealed details on the Nokia 9. An FCC entry for an HMD Global device with the model number TA-1005 has been discovered, and the listing includes some of the device's spec details. For example, the phone is listed as having a 5.5-inch OLED screen made by LG.
Also named in the phone's FCC entry is a Snapdragon 835 processor, 12MP and 13MP dual rear camera setup, 5MP front-facing camera, and 128GB of built-in storage. The phone is powered by a 3,250mAh battery, and we also learn that the device is running Android 8.0 Oreo.
There are no images of the actual device included in this FCC entry. However, earlier this year some renders surfaced that claimed to be based on the Nokia 9's factory CAD, which could give us an idea of what the device will look like.
What's interesting about this alleged Nokia 9 is that its spec list doesn't appear to be much better than the Nokia 8 that was announced earlier this year. HMD did say that the Nokia 8 isn't coming to the U.S., so perhaps this Nokia 9 will come stateside in its place? We'll just have to wait and see.
