The latest member of Amazon's Echo family is here.
Amazon is now selling the Echo Spot. The device is available in both black and white color options, but as of this post, the black version will be in stock on December 28th and the white version will be in stock on January 5th. You can order either model now and it'll ship when it's in stock, though.
The Amazon Echo Spot is like a mini Echo Show. It's got a round 2.5-inch display that you can use to check the time and weather and watch videos on, and there's a camera above the screen for video calls. There's also a speaker for playing music as well as a 3.5mm port and Bluetooth if you'd like to connect the Echo Spot to another speaker.
Like other members of the Amazon Echo family, the Echo Spot includes Amazon's Alexa assistant and an array of skills. You can request an Uber, order a Domino's pizza, and play music from services like Spotify and Pandora. You can also do things like play Jeopardy! and get headlines from the Washington Post.
The Echo Spot looks like a nice addition to Amazon's Echo lineup. While the Echo Show can be useful in the kitchen, letting you watch videos and take calls while you're cooking, the Echo Spot could be a useful alarm clock for your bedroom. It's small, its screen is round like a clock, and you can use it to get weather and traffic info when you wake up.
What do you think of the Amazon Echo Spot? Are you thinking about picking one up now that it's launched?
