Heads up, Pokémon Go players, because another major event is now live.
Developer Niantic has announced that the Global Catch Challenge stars right now and runs through November 26th. During the event, Pokémon Go players will need to catch as many Pokémon as they can, with rewards being doled out for reaching certain milestones.
When the global catch total reaches 500 million, Pokémon Go players will get double XP, six hour lures, and more Pokémon appearing globally. When the total hits 1.5 billion catches, players will get double Stardust and even more Pokémon appearing globally in addition to the previous rewards.
Once the catch total hits 3 billion, players will get the ultimate reward. This includes all of the goodies previously mentioned as well as Farfetch'd appearing worldwide for 48 hours and Kangaskhan in East Asia for 48 hours. Typically Farfetch'd can only be caught in select Asian countries like Japan and Taiwan, while Kangaskhan can only be found in Oceania.
