OnePlus recently confirmed that the OnePlus 5 and 5T won't be getting Android Oreo until sometime in early 2018, but folks that've held onto their OnePlus 3 and 3T are getting it much sooner.
The OnePlus 3 and OnePlus 3T are now receiving their Android 8.0 Oreo update. It's included with OxygenOS 5.0, which is now rolling out incrementally to both models. That means that the update is hitting a small number of users today, with a broader rollout happening in the coming days.
In addition to Android 8.0 Oreo, this update to OxygenOS 5.0 includes new features like picture-in-picture, a new Quick Settings design, the September 2017 security patches, a new app folder design, and more. Here's OnePlus's full changelog for the update:

The OnePlus 5T is now in the spotlight for obvious reasons, so it's good to see OnePlus's 2016 flagships get some love in the form of an Oreo update. If you've got a OnePlus 3 or OnePlus 3T, keep an eye out for your Oreo treat.
