Google Home owners, you've got another new feature coming your way.
Google has confirmed that it's rolling out a new broadcast feature to the Google Home. With it, you can use Google Assistant to broadcast your voice to all of the Google Home devices in your house at once. You can even do this when you're not at your home.
You can also have your Google Home units broadcast a playful message for you. For example, you can say "Ok Google, broadcast it's dinner time" and a dinner bell will ring on all of your Google Home devices.
Broadcasting for Google Home devices is now rolling out to Google Assistant on phones and speakers set to English in the U.S, U.K., Australia, and Canada. It works on both Android and iOS devices. Support for more languages is coming soon, says Google.
Amazon recently rolled out a similar feature for its Echo products, letting you use the Echo, Echo Dot, and other devices in your home as an intercom. Google's Home products are some of the most popular Echo competitors, so it's good to see Google keeping its smart speakers competitive by rolling out a broadcast feature shortly after Amazon updated its Echo devices.
