The Google Pixel 2 and Pixel 2 XL have had their fair share of issues in the weeks since their launch, including strange clicking sounds and display problems. Now we can add another issue to the list.
Some Google Pixel 2 XL buyers have received phones without an operating system. Upon powering up their shiny new paperweight, these people are met with a message that says "Can't find valid operating system. The device will not start. Visit this link on another device: g.co/ABH".
That link leads to a Nexus Help support page, but the problem is that there's no solution or suggestion for what people affected by this issue should do.
Right now it appears that the only thing for people with this problem to do is ship their phones back to Google and wait for a replacement.
Obviously getting a phone without an operating system installed is kind of a big deal, and it's disappointing to see Google's flagship smartphone plagued by another problem. It doesn't seem that this issue is too widespread, but it's still another problem that's added to the list of Pixel 2 XL woes and could affect some people's decision about whether or not to buy this phone.
