Now that Google Assistant has made its way onto all Android phones and the iPhone, it’s moving on to a different style of device: headphones.
Google today announced that it’s collaborating on headphones with Google Assistant built in. The first pair is the Bose QuietComfort 35 II, which are Bluetooth headphones with noise cancelling and 20 hours of battery life.
To activate Google Assistant, you simply press and hold the Action button on the left ear cup. You can then use Google Assistant to hear incoming messages and calendar events, control your music, get news stories, answer questions and make calls.
If you live in a market where Google Assistant isn’t yet available, the QC 35 II’s Action button will control noise settings only.
The Bose QC 35 II headphones are available today for $349.95. Color options include black and silver.
You do still need an Android phone or iPhone paired with the QC 35 II to use Google Assistant, so it’s not like you’ll be able to go out with only your headphone and still use the Assistant to answer questions. Still, the addition of Google Assistant to the QC 35 II could be nice for a lot of folks, like those who commute on public transportation, as it’ll let them hear their Assistant without letting others around them hear it, too.
