The iPhone isn’t the only device celebrating its decade-old status this year; the Apple TV is too. To celebrate, Apple took the wraps off the 5th generation Apple TV.
The newest generation Apple TV brings some significant upgrades to the table since the nearly 2-year-old 4th generation TV made its debut, including a faster A10X Fusion processor (the same processor that powers the iPad Pro) and 4K HDR video.
Apple TV 4K promises “cinematic quality” video viewing with HDR. 4K movies will be sold at the same price as HD movies, and previously purchased HD videos will be upgraded to 4K free of charge.
tvOS now features live sports and live news, and a stunning new 4K multiplayer game called “Sky” will be available soon as well.
Apple TV 4K will sell for $179. You can order it on September 15, and it will ship on September 22.
