Huawei plans to reveal its new Mate 10 flagship on October 16th, but a new report claims to have shown off the device well ahead of that date.
Images that allegedly show the Huawei Mate 10 have been shared by @OnLeaks and Compareraja. Based on factory CAD information, the renders show a large device with a fingerprint reader below its supposed 5.9-inch display, a 3.5mm headphone jack up top, and a USB Type-C port at the bottom.
Around on the back of the phone is a dual rear camera setup with flash. The back of the Mate 10 is “likely” to be glass, according to today’s report. Finally, on the sides of this alleged Mate 10 are volume and lock buttons as well as what could be a SIM tray.
We’ll have to wait until October 16th before we know exactly what makes the Huawei Mate 10 tick, but many of these rumored features would make sense if they were true. Huawei has been all about the dual rear camera setup lately, including the feature in its recent Mate 9, P10, and P9 flagships, among other devices, and the Mate 9 also had a 5.9-inch display.
One of the most notable changes with this alleged Mate 10 is its fingerprint reader placement. While the Mate 9 had a rear fingerprint reader, this Mate 10 has its fingerprint reader on the front. The Huawei P10 that debuted earlier this year had its fingerprint reader below the display, though, so it’s certainly possible that the Mate 10 will be the same.
What do you think of these leaked renders? Are you looking forward to the Huawei Mate 10?
