Apple fans, you may want to try and clear your schedule for September 12th.
Apple is planning to hold an iPhone event on September 12th, claims sources speaking to The Wall Street Journal. The company wants to holds its event at the Steve Jobs Theater at its new headquarters in Cupertino, but because that new HQ isn’t yet finished, the timing or location of the event could change.
The start of this new event is expected to be new iPhone hardware, with Apple expected to introduce updated versions of the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus as well as a new premium model with an all-screen design and facial recognition. Also expected to be announced at this event is a new Apple Watch model and a 4K-capable Apple TV.
The past several iPhone hardware announcements have come in mid-September, so it’s certainly possible that this year’s reveal will happen on September 12th. With that date just over two weeks away, it’s possible that Apple will send out invitations sometime during the next week, so stay tuned.
