The Galaxy Note 8 is now official, but there are still some more hotly anticipated Android flagships left to come in 2017, including Google’s new Pixel phones. And now we may know when Google will announce them.
Google will reveal the Pixel 2 and Pixel XL 2 on October 5th, according to Evan Blass. He adds that the two phones will include Snapdragon 836 processors.
We’ve gotten several looks at the Pixel 2 and Pixel XL 2 in recent months, and the two phones are expected to have slightly different designs. The LG-made Pixel XL 2 (leaked render above) is rumored to include super slim bezels around its display, while the HTC-made Pixel 2 will reportedly have thicker bezels and front-facing speakers as well as Active Edge, an HTC U11-style feature that’ll let you squeeze the sides of the phone to perform actions.
The backsides of the new Pixel phones are expected to be similar, with each phone sporting a smaller rear glass panel, rear fingerprint reader, and a rear camera with a silver ring around it.
Based on everything we’ve seen and heard about the new Pixel phones so far, are you looking forward to Google’s new flagships?
