Amazon is seemingly always working on ways to get you your purchases faster, and today the retailer is stepping that effort up with Instant Pickup.
Amazon Instant Pickup will let Prime and Prime Student members buy select items on Amazon and then pick them up in person in two minutes or less. Items available for Instant Pickup include food, cold drinks, personal care items, tech essentials like chargers, and Amazon devices like the Echo, Echo Dot, Fire TV, and select Fire tablets and Kindle e-readers.
This new Instant Pickup service is available in five Amazon-staffed locations to start: Los Angeles, Calif.; Berkeley, Calif.; Atlanta, Ga.; Columbus, Ohio; and College Park, Md. Amazon plans to add more locations in the coming months.
While its availability is limited to start, Amazon Instant Pickup sounds like a pretty handy service for folks that have access to it. Many people rely on Amazon for a lot of their shopping needs, and with Instant Pickup, they can use Amazon to grab a snack or an emergency charger or cable just like they would to buy anything else on Amazon. The difference is that instead of waiting two days for Amazon Prime shipping, they can get their item in two minutes with Amazon Instant Pickup.
