A new version of the Unicode standard has been announced this week, and with it comes new emoji.
Unicode 10.0.0 is now official, complete with four new scripts and 56 new emoji characters. Some of these new emoji include a face with starry eyes, a brain, an orange heart, a zebra, a coconut, a piece of pie, and a UFO. You can check out all 56 new emoji characters below.
Now that the new emoji characters are official, we’ll have to wait for companies like Apple, Google, and others to release updates with the new emoji included. It’s unclear when Apple will update iOS with the new emoji, but we’ve already seen some of the new characters in Google’s Android O beta, so Android folks should get to add the new characters to their emoji arsenal when the full release of Android O comes out later this year.
What do you think of the new emoji?
