Many are already looking forward to OnePlus' event next week, where they will finally be unveiling this year's flagship device, the OnePlus 5. The unveiling event is slated for June 20th and it's already something that those in the mobile industry are preparing for.
In line with this event, OnePlus has started sending out media invites in an interesting manner. Instead of a simple invitation, OnePlus has sent out a kevlar case and boxes with a phrase that reads "Focus on what matters." According to the invitation, the OnePlus 5 will have a traditional announcement in Beijing, which will be broadcasted in other countries. Additionally, it will be hosting other ceremonies following the launch.
While it's unsure whether this is an actual kevlar case, it could be a case suited for the OnePlus 5. But judging on the case OnePlus sent out, the OnePlus 5 could be equipped with a dual camera configuration on the back since there's a cutout for this. This bit of information could be important for OnePlus 5 as it confirms the leaks that have been circulating the past few weeks.
Other specs of the OnePlus 5 that have earlier been leaked show that the phone will not really be something physically mindblowing. Instead, the things that are running behind the scenes tell an important story about the device. One indication of this is the rumor that the device will be running on a premium-tier Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 processor with a massive 8GB of RAM and 128GB of onboard storage. And if the rumors are to be believed, the OnePlus 5 could cost beyond $500 because of its premium components.
Again, there's nothing official about the specs on the OnePlus 5. For all we know, OnePlus could simply be teasing us and reveal a totally different device on June 20th. But the days leading to the event date are few and we're pretty sure OnePlus is excited to showcase their latest flagship device. So yes, OnePlus, we're waiting.
