T-Mobile Digits is a major new service from the Un-carrier, and it’s launching next week.
T-Mobile today revealed that Digits, which was originally announced late last year, will launch to the public on May 31st. On that date, T-Mo customers will be able to turn their phone number into a Digits number, which can then be used to ring multiple devices at once. That includes smartphones, tablets, smartwatches, and PCs.
With Digits, you can attach a phone number to any Android or iOS device, even if they’re on a network other than T-Mobile. Simply install the Digits app for Android or iOS and you’re ready to go. Select Samsung smartphones have Digits functionality built-in, and they are the Galaxy S8 and S8+, Galaxy S7 and S7 edge, Galaxy Note 5, and Galaxy S6, S6 edge, and S6 edge+.
You can also get a second Digits number and connect it to your smartphone, giving you two phone numbers on a single device. This way you can have separate phone numbers for personal and for work, but without carrying two separate devices.
T-Mobile customers can turn their phone number into a Digits number for free on May 31st. If you’d like an additional Digits number, you can get one for $10 per month with AutoPay. For a limited time, though, customers on a T-Mobile One plan with taxes and fees included that also have the $5 per month T-Mobile One Plus add-on can get an additional Digits number for free.
T-Mobile also revealed today that the tens of thousands of customers that’ve been beta testing Digits will each get an extra Digits line for free as long as they’re with T-Mobile.
