Verizon was slated to begin selling the LTE-equipped LG Watch Sport following its debut back in February, but that release kept getting pushed back and pushed back. Now it’s been cancelled entirely.
The Verizon version of the LG Watch Sport has been cancelled, Verizon confirmed to Droid-Life today. The device has been pulled from Verizon’s online store, and it’s also disappeared from LG’s website. No reason for the cancellation has been given.
Customers that pre-ordered the LG Watch Sport from Verizon are receiving $100 off other connected smartwatches for their troubles.
The LG Watch Sport is one of Google’s flagship Android Wear 2.0 smartwatches, so it’s kind of a bummer to see the Verizon model get delayed for a few months and then just get cancelled. If you’re truly desperate for an LG Watch Sport, AT&T is selling the LTE-equipped version of the device. Unfortunately, Google is out of stock of the Wi-Fi-only model as of this post.
