After three different generations, it appears that the ASUS ZenWatch line could soon be killed.
ASUS is likely going to discontinue its ZenWatch line of Android Wear smartwatches, says Digitimes. Sources of the report say that sales of ZenWatch devices have been lower than expected, with ZenWatch shipments currently averaging 5,000 to 6,000 units per month.
The smartwatch industry is still in its early days, with smartwatches still working to gain traction with the general public. Add in the fact that there are lots of different Android Wear smartwatches on the market and it can be tough for any particular vendor to do really well, even if they’ve got devices that reviewers tend to like, like ASUS’s ZenWatches.
