Following the launch of the original Moto X in 2013, we saw a second generation Moto X launch in 2014 and then the Moto X Style/Pure Edition arrived in 2015. The year 2016 came and went without a new Moto X device, but it looks like that won’t be the case for 2017.
Branding for a new Moto X device called the “Moto X4” has been leaked by Evan Blass. Unfortunately, no other details about the new device were included with this leak.
Let's stop calling it "Moto X 2017," eh? pic.twitter.com/dBnUr5n7CU

A separate report does claim to have revealed some details about the new Moto X. According to a leaked presentation about the device, it’ll have a “metal and 3D glass” construction, IP68 water and dust resistance, a feature called “Smart Camera,” Turbo Charging, 3X carrier aggregation, AI integration, and always-on voice.
As for the rest of the Moto X4’s features, it looks like the device in this video has a dual rear camera setup with a dual LED flash above it. There don’t appear to be an connector pins near the bottom of this phone’s backside, suggesting that it may not be compatible with Moto Mods, which actually wouldn’t be a huge surprise since this isn’t a Moto Z series phone. Meanwhile, a second leaked image from Evan Blass suggests that the new Moto X will have a 5.2-inch 1920x1080 display.
There’s no word yet on when the Moto X4 might launch, but if Motorola’s got branding and presentations done, the device may not be far off. What do you want to see from this new Moto X?
