Google seems to tweak the Play Store for Android every few months or so, and today it looks like the latest look is rolling out to everyone.
An updated “My apps & games” section of the Play Store is hitting devices. Below you can compare the previous design (left) with the new one (right), and you can see that the new design adds a dedicated Updates tab and also uses much smaller app icons and condenses the cards for those apps, letting you fit more apps on a single screen.
The new design also gives you a number of apps in a particular list, like telling you exactly how many app updates you’ve got. There’s also a bit of new info for each app in these lists. For example, the Updates tab will tell you the last time that each app was updated, and the Installed tab will tell you the last time that you used each app. These tabs will also tell you the size of each app or app update.
This new-look “My apps & games” section may not look quite as pretty as it did before, especially thanks to the smaller app icons, but there’s a lot more info here. Not only does the new design fit more apps on the screen at once, but there’s also info like the app size and the last time that an app was updated, which are details that weren’t in that list before.
If you don’t have this new “My apps & games section” yet, keep an eye out and you should see it in the coming days. What do you think of this new design?
