Now that the LG G6 and Samsung Galaxy S8 are official, folks have turned their attention to the rumored HTC U, which is expected to be HTC’s next Android flagship. And today images of the device have surfaced.

Images that show the front and back of the HTC U have been shared by Evan Blass. The photos show a black slab of a phone that looks a bit like the HTC U Ultra, but that also doesn’t appear to have any major distinguishing characteristics. There’s a round rear camera housing, an LED flash next to it, power/lock and volume buttons on the site, what looks to be a fingerprint reader below the display, and a front-facing camera.

Unfortunately, this leak doesn’t really give us any insight into the HTC U’s highlight feature, Edge Sense. That feature will reportedly let you perform customizable actions using gestures like squeezing the phone or swiping along its left and right sides. With these gestures, you’ll be able to quickly jump into apps, making one-handed use easier.

The HTC U’s spec list is rumored to include a 5.5-inch 2560x1440 display, Snapdragon 835 processor, 12-megapixel rear camera with Sony IMX362 sensor, and 16-megapixel front camera with IMX351 sensor. Rounding out the rumored spec list is 64GB and 128GB storage options, a microSD slot, and Android 7.1 Nougat.

It’s nice to get an early peek at the HTC U, but as I said before, this image leak doesn’t shed much light on the Edge Sense feature that’ll likely be the main focus of the device. The good news is that with a rumored mid to late April debut, it may not be long before we get an official look at the HTC U and its Edge Sense functionality.
