Last year, LeEco announced that it had agreed to acquire Vizio for $2 billion to help it make a splash in the US market. Now it looks like that deal won’t actually happen.
LeEco today said that its acquisition of Vizio will not go further, with “regulatory headwinds” blamed for the decision. However, LeEco and Vizio have struck a new deal.
LeEco and Vizio will “explore opportunities” to build the Le app and its content into Vizio’s connected CE platform. The two firms will also utilize LeEco’s Ecosystem User Interface, exclusive content, and distribution channels in order to bring more Vizio products to China.
