Android Wear is gaining a new partner today.
Movado has announced that it’s partnering with Google on a new collection of Android Wear smartwatches. The Movado Connect collection watches will come in five styles at a starting price of $495. The collection will officially be introduced at Baselworld 2017 at the end of March and will launch in fall 2017. They’ll be available in the US, UK, Canada, and the Caribbean.
When it comes to features, Movado Connect will offer Android Wear 2.0, support for Android Pay, fitness tracking, and a round display with five customizable dials that are inspired by Movado’s Museum dial.
Movado also says that Tommy Hilfiger and Hugo Boss brands will be partnering with Google, too.
Android Wear launched with lots of traditional Android device makers on board, but over time, traditional watch makers have joined the platform, too. Now we’ve got big names like Fossil, Michael Kors, Casio, Nixon, TAG Heuer, and Movado bringing more choices for Android Wear buyers, including those that prefer higher-end and luxury brands. It’s good to see more analog watch makers getting into smartwatches, and it’ll be interesting to see what Movado’s new wearables look like.
