When HTC introduced us to the U Ultra, it was quiet about an exact launch date for its new Android smartphone. Now we know when the U Ultra will begin making its way to buyers.
The HTC U Ultra will begin shipping on March 10. HTC recently updated its U Ultra product page with this info, so if you pre-ordered a U Ultra or have been thinking about pulling the trigger on one, you now know when the shiny new phone will make its way to your doorstep.
HTC’s U Ultra features a 5.7-inch 2560x1440 Super LCD 5 display, as well as a secondary 2.05-inch 160x1040 screen above that main display. The secondary display can be used for quick access to your favorite apps and contacts, notifications, and more.
Another new feature of the U Ultra is the Sense Companion. This AI assistant will analyze your usage patterns and make recommendations based on what it learns. It could tell you to leave work early and dress warmly if it’s going to snow, or tell you to bring a battery pack if it thinks that you’ll run low on battery.
HTC is also touting the U Ultra’s rear camera, which includes a 12-megapixel sensor with phase detection autofocus, laser autofocus, and optical image stabilization. Rounding out the U Ultra’s spec list is a 16-megapixel front camera, Snapdragon 821 processor, 4GB of RAM, 64GB of storage, a fingerprint reader, and a 3000mAh battery. The U Ultra lacks a 3.5mm headphone jack, so you’ll be using its USB-C port for headphones as well as for charging.
