Android 7.0 updates now rolling out to Moto Z Play Droid Edition, Samsung Galaxy S7 Active

More Android 7.0 Nougat updates are now rolling out.

First up, Verizon has announced that it’s pushing Android 7.0 to the Moto Z Play Droid Edition. The update includes the new features that you’d expect from Nougat, like multi-window, bundled notifications, and an improved Doze Mode for battery savings.

If you’ve got a Moto Z Play Droid Edition, you should see the Android 7.0 update hit your device in the coming days. Those of you that don’t feel like waiting can manually check for the update by going into Settings > About phone > System updates.

Also being updated to Nougat today is AT&T’s Samsung Galaxy S7 Active. The update weighs in at 1.58GB and includes Samsung Cloud, Samsung Pass, network improvements, and the February 1, 2017 Android security patches. The update also removes AT&T Address Book.

The update to Nougat is a big one, adding several new features and bringing devices up to the latest major Android release. Updates for the Moto Z Play Droid Edition and Galaxy S7 Active aren’t surprising because they’re such recent releases, but it’s still exciting to see them rolling out.
