Unlimited data plans have been in the spotlight over the past week or so, and that continues today.
Sprint today announced improvements to its unlimited data plan that are similar to the new offerings from Verizon and T-Mobile. Starting tomorrow, February 17, Sprint’s unlimited plan will include unlimited HD video streaming (up to 1080p) as well as 10GB of high-speed mobile hotspot data (2G speeds after 10GB of usage) for $65 per month, or $60 per month after enrolling in AutoPay.
If you switch to Sprint, you can get an even better deal. Pricing for Sprint’s unlimited plan will drop to $50 per month for customers that switch to Sprint and enroll in AutoPay. You can add a second line for $40 more per month, and then lines three, four, and five will be free until March 31, 2018. After that date, pricing will be $60 for line one, $40 for line two, and $30 for lines three through five.
Sprint’s improved unlimited plan includes unlimited data, with HD video up to 1080p, game streaming up to 8Mbps, and music streaming up to 1.5Mbps. Also included is unlimited talk and text.
To celebrate the launch of its improved unlimited plan, Sprint is kicking off an iPhone 7 deal. Customers that switch to Sprint and trade in a qualifying device and lease the iPhone 7 for $0 per month for 18 months. The devices that qualify for trade-in are the iPhone 7, iPhone 7 Plus, iPhone 6s, iPhone 6s Plus, Samsung Galaxy S7, Galaxy S7 edge, Galaxy S6, Galaxy S6 edge, Galaxy Note 5, LG V20, LG G5, and “Moto Droid 2.” Considering the age of the Droid 2, though, I’m guessing Sprint actually means the Moto Z Droid.
