After launching a handful of Moto Mods along with the Moto Z earlier this year, Motorola today introduced two more modules for its flagship Z phones.
The Mophie Juice Pack offers a 3,000mAh battery, making it beefier than the current Incipio Offered Power Pack module that has a 2,220mAh battery. This Juice Pack Moto Mod also includes indicator lights so that you know how much charge the device has, as well as its own USB Type-C port so that you can charge the Juice Pack without it being connected to the Moto Z.
Mophie’s Juice Pack Moto Mod is now available from Verizon for $79.99.
The second new Moto Mod being announced today is an Incipio Car Dock. This Moto Mod features a clip on its backside that you can use to attach your Moto Z to your car’s air conditioning vent. When docked, the Moto Z will automatically launch Android Auto. Also included on the back of the Car Dock is a charging port and a 3.5mm audio jack for hooking up to your car stereo’s aux port.
The Incipio Car Dock will launch soon for $64.99.
Finally, Motorola plans to launch even more Moto Mods in 2017, aiming for a pace of four new mods per quarter.
It’s good to see Motorola continue to release new Moto Mods for its Moto Z phones. This shows that Moto is committed to its Moto Z phones and Moto Mods platform, it gives existing Moto Z owners more options for mods to buy, and it can make the Moto Z phones more attractive to potential buyers.
If you have one of Motorola’s Moto Z phones, do you own any Moto Mods?
