Looks like that double XP event isn’t the only big news happening with Pokémon Go this week.
Pokémon Go developer Niantic has announced that it’s expanding its Nearby feature that’ll help you find Pokémon in the wild. The feature was previously only available in select US cities like San Francisco and Seattle, but today it’s expanding to the following areas:
Niantic adds that it’s made tweaks to the Nearby feature, like with the way that Pokémon Sightings work. The company also says that the Nearby feature will also only appear if a PokéStop is close to your location.
The Nearby feature is super handy for helping you to locate nearby Pokémon. Previously, you’d only be able to see which Pokémon were near you and which ones were closest. With Nearby, though, you’ll see a picture of a nearby PokéStop next to the Pokémon, giving you a hint about where you’ll need to go to capture the Pokémon that you’re hunting.
In other Pokémon Go news, it looks like Ditto is now in the game. Several trainers on Reddit say that they’ve captured Ditto tonight, but the catch is that it doesn’t appear as a Ditto at first. Instead, the Ditto will appear as some other Pokémon, but will then be revealed as a Ditto when you capture it. So if you want the transforming Pokémon Ditto, you’d better start capturing every wild Pokémon that you come across!
