New Unicode 9 emoji, like a fox and an avocado, are still fairly new to consumers, but today the Unicode Consortium showed 51 new characters that could be included in Unicode 10.
There’s a wide variety of emoji in the Unicode Consortium’s list, including 36 emoji faces like “Grinning Face with Star Eyes” and “Face with Open Mouth Vomiting.” There’s also some food, like a pie and a pretzel, as well as a woman breastfeeding, a zombie, and a vampire.
You can check out all of the emoji for yourself right here.
As for when we might actually see these emoji on our phones, that could take awhile. They still have to be officially approved and added to Unicode 10, and then we have to wait for Unicode 10 to be released in 2017. Then it’ll have to be implemented by smartphone makers. So yeah, these characters are still a ways off.
