Alongside the Mate 9, Huawei today introduced a new wearable device.
The Huawei Fit is a fitness-focused wearable that can track your activities, including different sports, as well as count your steps, monitor your heart rate, and track your sleep. Huawei says that the Fit can automatically sense when you’re running, walking, or sleeping. The Fit also can also design running plans and give you guidance while you’re active.
In addition to fitness tracking, the Huawei Fit offers smartphone notifications. When synced to your phone, the Fit can deliver alerts for incoming calls and messages.
The Huawei Fit features a 1.04-inch black and white LCD touchscreen, an 80mAh battery that Huawei says will last for six days with normal use, and an IP68 rating with 5ATM water resistance. Its face is made of aluminum, while the strap is thermoplastic polyurethane (TPU).
Huawei’s Fit is launching today in the US at Amazon, Best Buy, and Newegg at a price of $129.99. Orange and Blue models are widely available, while the Black version is exclusive to Best Buy for the first 60 days.
The Huawei Fit looks like a no frills fitness tracker for folks that want to monitor their activities, but don’t want to spend a ton to do so. And while the Fit doesn’t run Android Wear like Huawei’s Watch, it’s good to see that it does offer call and message notifications so that you can still receive important alerts from your phone on your wrist.
