One day after a ZTE-made Android flip phone debuted in the US, a higher-end Samsung model has been revealed in China.

The Samsung W2017 is now official, and it looks pretty similar to the model that previously leaked out. The W2017 features a pair of 4.2-inch 1920x1080 Super AMOLED displays, one on the exterior and one on the interior, and the inside also features a T9 keypad, d-pad, and Android navigation keys.

Also included with the W2017 are 12-megapixel rear and 5-megapixel front cameras, quad-core Snapdragon 820 processor, 4GB of RAM, 64GB of storage (52.2GB available to the user), and a microSD slot for adding even more storage, and a fingerprint reader. Samsung has included a 2,300mAh battery to power this whole package.

There’s not a ton of info about the W2017’s launch, but it’s unlikely that the device will launch outside of China. 

The Samsung W2017 looks like a pretty solid device. While most flip phones offer displays that are pretty small compared to most slab handsets, the W2017’s 4.2-inch screens are actually a pretty good size. The rest of the W2017’s spec list is impressive, too, which makes it even more disappointing that most of us will never get to use one.
