When it comes to new flagships in the second half of 2016, we already know that we’ve got the Samsung Galaxy Note 7 and Apple iPhone 7 to look forward to. Now we know that the LG V20 is coming, too.
LG today confirmed the successor to last year’s V10 (shown above) will be known as the V20. The LG V20 will make its debut in September, and it’ll launch with Android 7.0 Nougat in tow. LG isn’t talking specs quite yet, but it is saying that the V20 will be a flagship smartphone with a multimedia focus.
The LG V10 was a solid Android flagship when it launched at the end of 2015. It’s got a high-end spec list, dual front cameras for wide-angle selfies, a second screen that could be used for quick access to apps or to display weather and time info when the main display was off, and lots of video features for the rear 16-megapixel camera. Now LG is prepping a successor to the V10, once again giving us two Android flagships in one year. We’ll have to wait until September before we know what kind of features the V20 will offer, but if it’s anything like the V10, we should see a high-end handset with a focus on its front and rear camera features.
