Smartphone manufacturer BLU has done it again. And by "it", we mean proving that you don't need to spend lots of money on a smartphone enjoy a device with the latest specs. Just like it has done in the past, BLU has announced that their latest smartphone, the BLU Studio Touch, will be available with a price tag of $99.
Some of the key specs that will be available with this new smartphone include a 5-inch IPS display with a resolution of 1280x720, 4G LTE connection, and a metal body design. The phone is said to have an 8-megapixel rear-facing camera along with a 5-megapixel camera in front with LED flash. It will be running on 1GHz Quad-Core MediaTek 6735P processor with 1GB of RAM, 8GB of native storage, and a microSD card slot for up to 64GB memory expansion. It will include a 2,500 mAh battery that will give power to it for a full day's use. Upon release, the phone will already be running Android 6.0 Marshmallow OS but there's no word whether or not the upcoming Android Nougat update will already be available.
But if there's anything about these specs that should make you decide to go with this device, it would be the fact that it includes a fingerprint sensor. It's not everyday you see a phone under $100 to have a fingerprint sensor.
As of this writing, the BLU Studio Touch is available through Amazon. If you're willing to wait, however, a higher specced model will be released for an extra $10 in September. This will be available with 2GB of RAM and 16GB of native storage. Its colors include Slate Grey and White-Gold.
If you want an even cheaper device, BLU also offers the R1 HD; which is exclusively available for Amazon Prime subscribers for only $50. At this price though, ads are included. If you wish to forego the ads, you can get the R1 HD for $100.
