Earlier today, we noted that Walmart Pay recently expanded to another 19 states and that soon it could be available nationwide. We just didn’t expect nationwide availability to come *this* quickly.
Walmart Pay is now available in all Walmart stores across the U.S., which is more than 4,600 locations. To try it for yourself, download the Walmart app for Android or iPhone, then shop like you normally would. Once you get to the Walmart register, launch the Walmart app, open Walmart Pay, and then use the camera to scan the code on the register.
Walmart doesn’t yet support Android Pay or Apple Pay, opting instead to offer its own mobile payment service. It’s unclear whether or not you’ll ever be able to use Apple and Google’s services to pay for stuff at Walmart, but at least for now, Walmart appears committed to its own offering. We just have to wait and see if it can take off with consumers.
Have you tried Walmart Pay? If not, you can get the Walmart app for Android here and the iPhone app here.
