The iPhone launched as an AT&T exclusive in 2007, but it’s steadily made its way to most other carriers in the U.S., including postpaid and prepaid providers. And soon, it’ll hit another prepaid operator.
T-Mobile says that MetroPCS will soon sell the iPhone. Specifically, it’ll sell the iPhone 6s, iPhone 6s Plus, iPhone SE, and iPhone 5s. Here’s how pricing for the four iOS phones will break down:
These iPhones will be available in select MetroPCS stores in Florida first, starting July 1. They’ll be offered nationwide “soon,” says T-Mo.
Because MetroPCS is an unlocked GSM prepaid provider, you’ve long been able to bring an unlocked iPhone onto Metro’s service. Today’s news means that it’ll be easier for MetroPCS customers to buy an iPhone, though, since they’ll just be able to buy directly from their operator. It’s also good to see that MetroPCS is offering the iPhone SE and iPhone 5s in addition to the iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus, giving their customers affordable iOS options in addition to the flagship models.
