AT&T officially launched Wi-Fi Calling last year, but the feature has been iPhone-only since then. That’s finally changing today, though, with support for Android now rolling out.

AT&T has started rolling out Wi-Fi Calling for Android, but right now, it’s only available on the LG G4. The feature will make its way to more Android devices “soon.” To use Wi-Fi Calling, you’ll need a postpaid AT&T account that’s set up for HD Voice.

If you’ve got an AT&T LG G4, you should receive a notification when it’s available on your device. Just install the software update and your G4 should then let you make and receive calls as well as send and receive texts over a Wi-Fi connection.

Wi-Fi Calling is handy because it ensures that you can make calls and send texts in places where your cell coverage is weak. It’s nice to see AT&T finally rolling Wi-Fi Calling out to Android devices, but hopefully the feature expands to more phones quickly.
