Days after the OnePlus 2 started receiving its official Android 6.0.1 update, the OnePlus One has begun getting a big update of its own.
Cyanogen OS 13.1 is now making its way to the OnePlus One. The most notable aspect of this update is the includes of Mods, which is a feature that’ll integrate third-party apps into the core features of the phone. For example, you can use the Twitter mod to see trending tweets on your lock screen by swiping left when your phone is locked.
There are several Microsoft Mods available on Cyanogen OS 13.1, too. There’s a Skype mod that’ll integrate Skype directly into your phone’s Phone app, letting you start Skype conversations from within the Phone app as well as view your call history and contacts. There’s also a Hyperlapse mod that’ll let you take time-lapse videos in your Camera app, and a Cortana mod that’ll let you use you voice to take selfies and search, set reminders, and get to your schedule from the lock screen.
With Mods, Cyanogen OS 13.1 looks like a big update for the OnePlus One. While the OPO isn’t the top dog in the OnePlus lineup anymore, it’s nice to see that the device is still getting notable Cyanogen OS updates that extend the life of OnePlus’s original flagship.
Do you have a OnePlus One? If so, how is it treating you lately?
