After launching at AT&T and Verizon last year, ZTE’s Spro 2 smart projector is now on T-Mobile.
The Spro 2 is officially available from T-Mobile’s website with a price tag of $0 down and 24 payments of $20.84, or $499.99 full retail. If you prefer a brick and mortar buying experience, the Spro 2 should be available in select T-Mobile stores tomorrow, June 8.
When it comes to specs, the T-Mobile flavor of the Spro 2 is largely similar to those AT&T and Verizon models that launched last year. It’s running Android 4.4.4 on a 5-inch 1280x720 display, and you have full Play Store access. The projector can push out a screen up to 120 inches in size, and the hotspot supports up to 10 simultaneous connections on T-Mobile’s network. The Spro 2 can connect to LTE bands 2, 4, 5, and 12.
Powering ZTE’s Spro 2 is a quad-core Snapdragon 801 processor, 2GB of RAM, and a 6600mAh battery. There’s 16GB of built-in storage, but if that’s not enough, you can supplement that with a microSD card. Also of note is that the Spro 2 offers HDMI and full-size USB ports on its backside.
The ZTE Spro 2 sure took its sweet time getting to T-Mobile, but now that it’s here, it’s an interesting option for folks that want a dedicated mobile hotspot. Not only can it connect your other devices to T-Mo’s network, but you can also use it to download your favorite Android apps and project content onto a wall for entertainment or productivity on the go.
