The Galaxy Note 6 (or maybe Galaxy Note 7?) is one of the most hotly-anticipated phones still to come in 2016, and now a couple of leaks have surfaced that claim to shed some more light on Samsung’s next big thing.
@OnLeaks and uSwitch have teamed up to share renders of what’s said to be the next Galaxy Note. The renders are allegedly based on factory CAD schematics for the Galaxy Note 6/7, and they show a device that doesn’t look terribly different from the Galaxy Note 5. There’s a silver edge all around the device; ports, a speaker, and an S Pen on the bottom; and a squircle rear camera with flash and heart rate monitor on the back of the phone.
Meanwhile, Shai Mizrachi has posted alleged schematics of the Note 6/7. The device in these images look similar to the one shown in the @OnLeaks renders. Mizrachi previously leaked images of the Galaxy S7, S7 edge, and LG G5 that turned out to be accurate.
In the final Note leak — for now, anyway — Evan Blass has said that Samsung’s launch event for the Note 6/7 is “almost exactly two months away.” That means that we could see the new Note announced in early August and then released in the middle of the month.
Spec details for the new Galaxy Note flagship are largely still up in the air, but it's rumored that it’ll have a USB Type-C port, and it’s also been suggested that Samsung could include an iris scanner. Because it’s a Galaxy Note flagship, we can probably expect features like a 5.7-inch 2560x1440 AMOLED display, Snapdragon 820 processor, and at least 4GB of RAM, and it wouldn’t be a surprise to see the 12-megapixel camera found in the Galaxy S7 in there, too.
