Lots of folks make travel plans during the summer months, and so to help its customers prepare for summer travel, AT&T today announced some roaming news for Mexico and Canada.

Starting May 20, AT&T customers on a 15GB Mobile Share Value Plan or higher can get unlimited calling and texting in and between Mexico and the US, and they can also use their data plan as normal while in Mexico. Meanwhile, customers on AT&T’s Unlimited Plan will face no roaming charges in Mexico or Canada.

One detail that’s worth mentioning is that Unlimited Plan customers will need to add the AT&T Roam North America feature to smartphones and the Roam North America Data to tablets in order to get their free roaming feature. So if you’re an AT&T customer on the Unlimited Plan, be sure to add your free roaming through the myAT&T app, AT&T’s website, or through telephone support.
