HTC today took the wraps off of a new entry to its Desire series of smartphones.
The Desire 830 is equipped with BoomSound front-facing speakers above and below its 5.5-inch 1920x1080 display. On the back of the Desire 830 lives a 13-megapixel camera with optical image stabilization, while the front-facing selfie camera is an UltraPixel shooter.
Inside of the Desire 830 lives an octa-core MediaTek processor, 3GB of RAM, and 32GB of storage. If you’d like more storage than that, you can add it by slipping a microSD card into the Desire 830. Finally, there’s a 2800mAh battery powering this entire package.
The Desire 830 will become available in Taiwan starting May 6 at a price of NT$9,990, or $310 USD. That seems like a reasonable price for a package that includes a 1080p display, 13-megapixel camera with OIS, and 3GB of RAM. It’s unclear when or if the Desire 830 will make its way to more countries, but HTC’s Desire line has appeared all over the world, so it’s possible that the Desire 830 will do the same.
HTC also today announced that it will launch the Desire 825 in Taiwan today, May 3. The Desire 825 was first announced in February, and it offers specs like a 5.5-inch 1280x720 display, 13-megapixel camera, Snapdragon 400 processor, and 2GB of RAM. It’ll carry a price tag of NT$7,990, or $248 USD.
