Hot on the heels of a rumor that claims that HTC is working on two new Nexus devices, HTC’s most recent Nexus device has disappeared from the Google Store.
The HTC Nexus 9 is no longer available from Google’s online shop. Clicking on the “Tablets” tab at the top of the store page will kick you directly to the Pixel C product page, and trying to navigate directly to the Nexus 9’s product page will redirect you to the Google Store home page.
The Nexus 9 originally debuted in October 2014 as the newest Nexus tablet, following the two Nexus 7 models and the Nexus 10. The Nexus 9 never seemed to be super-popular with consumers, though. Now it looks like the Nexus 9 has officially been retired by Google, though if you really do want one, you can still get an N9 from retailers like Amazon and HTC itself.
Google does still offer the Pixel C as its flagship Android tablet, but it’s possible that HTC could be cooking up a new Nexus tablet to replace the Nexus 9. A new report claims that HTC is working with Google on two new Nexus products, and while not much is known about them, it’s possible that one is a phone and the other is a tablet.
Have you ever used a Nexus 9?
