Three months after the Samsung Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 edge were made official, Samsung has added a fifth color option for its Android flagships.
The Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 edge will be available in Pink Gold, which joins Black Onyx, White Pearl, Gold Platinum, and Silver Titanium as the colors available for the newest Galaxy S phones. Samsung explains that it chose Pink Gold as the newest GS7 color because it’s “a natural color that provides a sense of comfort,” adding that “the refined, skin tone-inspired Pink Gold color scheme is intended to soothe and incorporate a touch of gentleness, radiance, and sophistication to the smartphones’ design.”
The Pink Gold versions of the Galaxy S7 and S7 edge will launch in Korea April 20. Samsung says that they’ll soon be available to customers in “select markets,” but it stopped short of saying exactly which markets those will be.
Samsung frequently gives its flagship smartphones new colors in the months following their launches, so it’s no surprise to see the Galaxy S7 and S7 edge get the same treatment. As for the choice of Pink Gold, pink is a pretty common color to be added to a smartphone lineup post-launch, and Pink Gold/Rose Gold has recently become a trendy color option for smartphones. Here’s to hoping that the Pink Gold GS7 and GS7 edge spread out from Korea quickly so fans of that trend will have another smartphone option that’s donning that hue.
